September 19, 2024 marks the last day of a close to 9-month-journey across three continents for the Global Business Master students. After accomplishing several team projects at the University of Victoria and at the Johannes Kepler University, students were ready to tackle social projects that were provided by the municipality of Santiago de Surco in Lima, Peru.
Tackling issues in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals defined by the United Nations such as loneliness of elderly (SDG #3 – “Good health and well-being” *), child obesity (SDG #2 – “Zero hunger”*), security concerns (SDG #16 – “Peace, justice and strong institutions”*) in developing areas and many more revealed different realities to students that they might not come across in their own lives. Such eye-opener projects make this program special among many other aspects. While being in this immersive experience students can explore what is important for them in their and their communities’ lives and become responsible global leaders. That is the premise of this truly transformative journey called Global Business Studies.
The management team at the JKU Business School congratulates students for their achievements and thanks the partners for their efforts while creating this truly unique experience every year together!
