Housing expert David Mullins joins the IFI as visiting research fellow

David Mullins is Professor of Housing Policy at the University of Birmingham, UK, and a renowned expert in social and community-led housing. Since 2013, David has been working with IFI researcher Richard Lang on comparing community-led housing models in England and Austria. This study received funding from an APART-fellowship of Austrian Academy of Sciences and an EU Marie Curie Fellowship (http://ifi.jku.at/?p=1784). David and Richard are currently working on the dissemination of findings from their joint research, including the conference “Hope for Housing – the rebirth of Community-Led Housing” which will be held at Birmingham University on July 9, 2018. David’s visit in April included meetings with IFI and JKU colleagues as well as with stakeholders from the local and national housing sector, and a field trip to the innovative housing project “Willy*Fred” (https://habitat.servus.at/willy-fred/) in the centre of Linz.
