IFI researcher Richard Lang recently joined the EU COST Action Network “EMPOWER-SE – Empowering the next generation of social enterprise scholars” as a Management Committee Member (http://www.empowerse.eu). This initiative links researchers from 37 countries with practitioners and policy makers to advance knowledge and develop evidence-based policy for fostering a sustainable social enterprise eco-system. Richard participated at the kick off meeting in Brussels last November. He also presented his work on the characteristics of cooperative social enterprises in Europe, North America and Australia at the follow-up meeting in Lisbon in February 2018. This work will be published as a chapter in a forthcoming Routledge book on “Social Enterprise in Europe”.
