IFI researchers co-operate with experts from the University of Lund (Sweden) in a research initiative on Refugee Entrepreneurship.
Motivated by the substantial numbers of Syrian refugees comming to Austria and Sweden the researchers turned their attention to the economic and societal potentials and challenges entrepreneurship has as a career choice for this group of individuals. In the workshop in Lund the project team tore together the strings for a set of applications for funding. The initiative is also supported by a group of JKU students who will develop their Master Thesis along the lines of this research. We are very glad to be able to tap the advantages of the diversity of our international students in JKU’s master programs.
