Michael Gusenbauer is the first academic to finish his doctorate in the IFI’s (Institute for Innovation Management) young history.
During his doctorate he founded the Innovation Offshoring Initiative with the goal of reviewing and extending the knowledge on innovation offshoring. In more than three years of intensive work, Michael investigated into the conceptual roots and content and delimitation of innovation offshoring by employing a multi-method approach. He participated actively in the international academic discourse and attended numerous presentations at conferences and workshops and research visits at the University of Manchester and the Queensland University of Technology. In his doctoral thesis he shed light on an important management phenomenon that is discussed with great in academia. With this work he laid the foundation for a promising career in academia.
