As business and culture are closely related, gaining insight in Austria’s history is important for Global Business students. This is why PAC and ACT students went together to the Mauthausen Memorial to learn about major events in Austrian history. The experience was both humbling and heart-wrenching as they walked through the various exhibits and learned about the atrocities committed there during the Second World War. It was a stark reminder of the dangers of prejudice and discrimination. Despite the heaviness of the experience, it was an important opportunity for the students to honor the memories of those who suffered and to never forget the lessons of history, as this part of Austrian history shaped the whole culture.
