IFI professor Matthias Fink was interviewed for an article in the daily newspaper Wienerzeitung about the industrial region Innviertel – with its well-known companies like FACC, Fischer Ski or KTM -and the effects of the current corona crisis on the region. He attests to the companies in the region to cooperate for mutual benefit. He compares the industrial landscape in the region with a mixed forest instead of spruce monoculture: “The more diverse the structure, the better – in terms of the size of the companies, but also in terms of the sectors. Because radically new ideas come from small and medium-sized companies. When small companies work together with the big ones, they combine the power of the big with the agility of the small ones.”
