Through concerted development and continuous survey of the European Venture Climate Index (E-VCI) valuable information will be extracted on Venture funding and innovation climate with respect to different branches and regions. The E-VCI will facilitate (1) a fact-based scholarly debate, (2) development of efficient measures to support the innovation sector and (3) will provide more transparency for founders in competition for venture capital.
The European Venture Capital climate will be monitored through an adequate, transparent and continuous data-acquisition process. As part of the E-VCI, the economic environment for innovative enterprises and venture capital will be inspected. In addition, all changes will be represented in an index, leading to a valuable series. The survey will be conducted in concert with active market participants (entrepreneurs and investors) and friendly supported by the Vienna (Austria) based Business Angel Institute.
