Susanne Kalka is an associate researcher at the IFI Institute for Innovation Management at the Johannes Kepler University Linz. Her research is funded by the European Training Network “Social Entrepreneurship in Structurally Weak Rural Regions: Analysing Innovative Troubleshooters in Action” under the highly competitive Horizon2020 MSCA initiative. In her work Susanne is hosted and supported by OTELO eGen.
Her research focuses on the impact of social innovations in rural regions across Europe. In her PhD project she will also have secondments in different social and academic partner institutions in Ireland and Germany.
Susanne holds a Master degree in Sociology from the University Potsdam and a Bachelor degree in Political Science and Sociology from the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg. Her previous research focus is on qualitative methods of social science and gender studies. In her PhD project Susanne will broaden her methodological approach at the intersection of entrepreneurship and innovation studies in diverse institutional contexts.
